Managing Director, Liam Armstrong MC
Liam is the Managing Director and Co-Founder, bringing a distinguished career as a senior security manager with vast expertise in delivering high-level security solutions across diverse and complex environments. A former Royal Marines Commando, Liam holds the rare distinction of being the first non-officer and youngest soldier at the time to be publicly awarded Her Majesty's Military Cross (MC), in recognition of his exceptional bravery, initiative, and leadership on operations. This prestigious award underscores his exemplary qualities and commitment to excellence beyond the expectations of his rank.
With extensive experience providing bespoke security services globally to Ultra-High-Net-Worth individuals and their families, Liam demonstrates a deep understanding of the unique challenges and sensitivities involved in protecting high-profile clients. His professional expertise encompasses strategic planning and security strategy development, ensuring comprehensive risk mitigation tailored to client needs. Liam's expertise in stakeholder engagement is pivotal in forging strong partnerships with clients, operational teams, and external agencies, driving collaborative and effective security solutions at the highest level of professionalism and discretion.
After leaving the Royal Marines in 2006, Managing Director and Co-Founder Chris Fendall spent 12 years as PSD in Iraq, Afghanistan and West Africa on UK / US Department of Defence Reconstruction and US AID Humanitarian projects before transitioning to the Oil & Gas Industry working for BP, Shell, ExxonMobil and Total as a Project / Ops Manager. This experience honed essential knowledge of Hostile Environments and all forms of government and corporate security before returning to a UK / Domestic role, primarily inCP and RST dedicated to business and UHNW clients.
Chris Fendall, Co-Director
Daniel is a certified Security Management Professional (CSMP) with extensive experience managing security projects for Ultra-High-Net-Worth and executive clients across the UK and Europe. Formerly a Royal Marines Commando (JNCO), he brings 15 years of combined military and private security expertise, including leadership of armed teams protecting critical national assets and conducting operations in high-risk environments.
As a project leader, Daniel has designed and delivered specialist security training to multinational forces, ensuring effective implementation of security strategies. Known for his calm, diligent, and discreet approach, he combines military discipline with strong client relationship skills to earn the trust of principals and team members.
Daniel Platt, Project Manager
We use our military & security expertise to build bespoke, close protection and intelligence operations, providing individuals, families and businesses with risk control strategies. All operations are managed by our in-house team and carried out by highly experienced and qualified personnel, SIA close protection professionals.
